Well, the last 3 weeks have definitely been an adventure! Here are some things we've learned from Simon:
1. When a baby gets his first bath it's essential to have Grandma around to show mommy and daddy how it's done! And hooded towels are cute.
2. Your baby's cry can be heartbreaking, adorable, and later funny.
3. Babies are constantly discovering the world around them. This means they're in for a lot of surprises.
4. Always swaddle. Jake has engineered a swaddle that holds his pacifier in his mouth. I have yet to perfect it.
5. Although Jake has become an expert swaddler he still has a lot to learn about childcare.
6. Keep Grandma close by!
7. Hold the baby securely while sleeping and learn to sleep in a rocking chair.
8. Be tough...
...and happy.
9. Some clothes, no matter how cute, just don't fit yet.
10. The best Christmas presents are small.
12. Make daddy take a picture of me and Simon once in a while, even if I'm self-conscious.
