Thing 1 and Thing 2

I know it's a little late to be posting Halloween pics, but I'm going to anyway...

We had an awesome Halloween party at Jake's school, but first all the kids got to trick or treat the faculty.

 Joseph loves streamers.

 Simon loves food.

 At one point I turned around and couldn't find Simon. Then I saw this in the hallway...

 This is a very serious occasion...

 This little girl is Joseph's birthday twin. My friend and I were due one day apart, but I guess they were coordinating behind the scenes :)

 There was a guy making balloon swords there. Of course Jake had to get in on that action.

 And Simon stole Luke's lightsaber. Star Wars fan in the making (note the R2D2 lunchbox in the background that Leah was carrying around).

 And when we got home I couldn't resist snapping a few more...

 Joseph loves using this couch to stand up.

 Joseph was a little startled when Simon's hair came off.

Halloween

Simon's first Halloween! It was great! I made him a dinosaur outfit (which was more fun for me than for him) and we found out he's having a little brother!

 This photo shoot was a lot harder than it looks! Trying to get that boy to hold still, without knocking over the pumpkin, and smile all at the same time is no easy task!

 We went to the Halloween party at Jake's school. Jake got into the crafts. DCP stands for Donated Cadaver Patient, so yes, it could be considered Halloween related...in a very politically correct way. It's kind of funny when there's a kid friendly party at the school it's mostly just the students with kids who come. The single students get scared away by the children.

 Pumpkins!

 Ok, so after spending all that time cleaning and carving my own pumpkin, no way was I going to do the boys too. I thought the permanent marker thing was fine, but Jake was firmly against it. Apparently he was traumatized by a second grade teacher who built up all of his anticipation when she told them they were making jack-o-lanterns in school, and crushed him when he found out they were painting not carving the pumpkins. He is now firmly against external pumpkin decorating.  

 When we got home I wanted to take pictures of Simon's cute costume. He just wanted to climb up the stairs.

 Ok, so I'm a little proud of the costume, but honestly, this may be the coolest thing I've ever made.
