The Johns-Rood Family Reunion!

Getting ready for the great AMAZING RACE! (My team won, by the way)

This was my quilt patch. It won 1st place for my age group!

We put together a quilt to donate to the Children's Hospital. Each of us colored a square and then we put them all together.  This is Jake's patch.

Jake was the reserve grand champion for the pie eating contest.

Dylan's Graduation

My brother Dylan graduated from high school last week and I just want to say I'm soooooo proud of him! This kid is such a stud! He's heading out to Utah State this fall and will be studying aviation.  I just hope he doesn't break too many hearts...

The Zoo!

We went to the zoo with Kelly and her kids this week. It was so fun! This giraffe, who was about 14 ft tall was eating grass on that embankment, and Jake decided to make a friend. If you've ever wondered what a giraffe's tongue feels like, well, according to Jake it feels just like a cow tongue. I think he makes a lot of these friends.

This lady saw Jake petting the giraffe, hurriedly snapped some pictures, and was nice enough to email them to us.
Jake was pretty impressed that he got the whole giraffe in this picture.

Elephants!
This statue made noises when you sat on it. Here's Brent the mechanic trying to figure out how it works.

I would say the boys favorite part of the zoo may have been these statues they put out for kids to explore. The rhinoceros was particularly ideal for climbing!

Wedding Pictures!

All right, disclaimer. This is A LOT of pictures! But I figure, we have them, might as well share them! Just look at the ones you want to see!

My cousin Lindy did the photography at the temple, and my brother-in-law Kyle did it at the reception. It's all AMAZING!

Here's us coming out of the temple. So happy!!!
P.S. My mom made that stunning bouquet and my sister Katie MADE that dress! Thanks for letting me borrow it!

Getting organized for pictures. I'm not sure why this one is black and white, but I want to call attention to Cheryl. Everyone else looks normal, but if you look just at her it totally looks like a picture from 1912. It's
better the bigger it is.

Everyone!
Carter side - Cheryl and Drew win the best face award.

My immediate siblings - we love you guys!

Uncle Kerry and Aunt Rachel wanted a turn in the limelight.

I love this picture with Jake's parents.

After the temple we had a beautiful wedding dinner at Magleby's.
My amazing sisters somehow took the scattered fragments of ideas in my mind and made an absolutely gorgeous reception! I loved it!

Jake and his brothers - I love this picture - and Jake with his two sisters.

I love Brent and Mason in this picture.

I have this picture framed in my apartment on a little table. Matthew loves it! Every time they visit I have to take it away from him and put it somewhere he can't reach. He loves pointing out mommy and his aunts.

Dani Lee made this amazing cake for us. The layers were trimmed with blueberries. It looked beautiful and tasted delicious!
Longest day of my life, but wonderful of course! I always thought I would think of my wedding day as the best day of my life, but I was wrong. It just keeps getting better and better from there! Hope you liked the pictures!
